What is branding and why do you need it?


Branding, by definition, is shaping a brand in their customer’s minds. But, also, branding is about storytelling. Stories are the foundation on which humankind was built, they help large groups of people to collaborate and create things.

When we do branding, we are creating a story to build an emotional bond between our brand and our customers.

 Brands that are consistent and easy to recognize build trust with their clients and they feel more at ease to buy their products or to hire their services.

In today’s world, competition is fierce, so standing out from the crowd is fundamental to competing in the global economy. But what elements integrate your branding:

The name of your company. It is the name of your company, and it reflects your product or service.

A good example is Amazon, the vision of Jeff Bezos was to build an “everything store” and that it would make its customers’ lives happy and easy and so the arrow goes from the A to the Z to represent the broad scope of the famous brand.

Color. Colors also deliver messages and complement your branding; the combination must be coherent as they describe your brand.

Vision. This refers to the goals and objectives that guide the activities and the strategy of the company.

Message. This is the offer of the value of your company. A good rule is to be authentic, overpromising, or trying to sell what you hope will be but isn’t will fail, as an example of this, we look at Elizabeth Holmes and the whole Theranos scam.

Graphics. This refers to the uniform and distinct aesthetic used in your marketing messages.

Other elements make a strong brand such as the ability to attract top talent, the capacity to engage them and align them to the company values, the building of a powerful image on the emotions of the consumers, synchronicity between marketing and advertising strategies, among others.
